Krishna proclaims. ‘The piety that comes from bathing at holy places, feeding Brahmins, giving generous charity, serving Lord Hari, all vows and fasts, all austerities, speaking truth, serving all Devas always stay in the body of the cow’. Kamadhenu, the bountiful ‘cow of plenty’ and the ‘mother of cows’ in Hindu mythology is regarded as the source of prosperity. All gods are believed to reside in different parts of the body of Gau Maa.
Selfless service to Gau Mata is being considered as one of the highest form of services in today’s world where people in large volumes are misled to perform certain rituals and customary practices which may or may not bring bliss into their mundane lives. On the contrary it is believed and practiced that selfless service towards their mother cow revitalizes lives in many forms. It brings satisfaction and feeling of fulfillment for a humble cause that is in larger interest to the society and humanity.
